This is not my truck but my friends. I forgot if it’s 55-57. He told me it had a steep panhard bar angle, so he asked me to help. I forgot to get the before picture but I grabbed a few pictures along the way.
After unloading I got to work, measuring the locations of the mounts and started cutting.
I decided to make a hole for the current location just incase he may wanted to move it back and I only cut one side off so I could make sure to move it the desired amount. I also didn’t have to try to hold it and tack it.
Next up I needed to raise the mount on the axle side. He don’t want me to cut it on the axle side so it wouldn’t cook the oil inside.
So I fish plates it from the inside, plug welded it and welded the seam and added filler plate so in the end you wouldn’t see that it was modified. I fitted it to the axle side plug welded it and welded it the same way. Then ground down the welds so it was flat.
Oh and since it was already kind of tall before I started I added a rod to help brace it. Trying to give room to work on it later. In the end the angle was much improved and will not hit the bed or the axle.
He was very happy, and I got my thigh master work out from the foot petal. I wish I could post a video just because how sweet this thing sounds. Here are some other pictures I took while it was in the shop.
