On my coupe build weight is high priority. Every pound counts, so I decided to build my own lightweight steering column. I just used some one inch chromoly tube, some bearings, locking collars and a section of aluminum tubing. A little bit of welding and I had a steering column that was 10 lbs lighter than a stock one.
